It is understandable to experience the human condition of wanting more. As we grow in the Lord; however, we need to come to a place where we are content and, more importantly, satisfied in Him and Him alone.
your love is better than life /Psalm 63:3/
The Lord has told us that He has come to give us life – more abundantly (John 10:10). Before we run with this promise and strive to gain more possessions, let us pause and see what kind of life He is talking about. He notes that the life – abundant life – is Jesus Christ Himself (John 11:25; 14:6).
When we fall in love with Him, satisfaction becomes the norm. Our inner being rejoices in Him for who He is. Once we are lost in Him, rest assured that whatever we do, relate, have, or be is also anointed to bring full satisfaction to our soul. Let us turn our eyes from futile busyness and focus on our Rock – the beloved Lord from whom all blessings flow.
God is a beloved, dear Father who knows how to take good care of His children. He watches over us day and night. It is beyond imagination to walk through life with such an amazing Father by our side.
His timing may not match our timing, but we can come to appreciate His ways within our lives. We see the darkness around us; yet, we rest in the knowledge that He will bring the bright morning sunrise in a short while. We laugh at shut doors, for there comes one door that no one can dare to shut.
We settle with less; but, then He showers His blessings on us that we cannot contain any longer. We humble ourselves below His hands; but, then we find ourselves lifted up in His glory. We despair that we are left for dead; but, then we blossom in the newness of His life. We reach the end of ourselves only to realize that it is just the beginning for Him.
