Get this. We are untouchables unless we ourselves give the devil access to mess up our lives. It is true. He is a defeated foe on the cross by our beloved Lord Jesus Christ.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 NKJV
The fact that he is defeated doesn’t stop the evil one from attempting to stumble us from our walk with God. He does that through his cunning trickery thereby deceiving us into biting his bait.
in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes. 2 Corinthians 2:22 NIV
The fight we are called to fight is not to overpower him but to expose his lies by arming ourselves with His truth. The battle is not about strength or power but knowledge in the battlefield of our minds.
Additionally, little things can be distraction enough to get our eyes off from the Lord. For example; lack of focus, priority, balance, and consistency trips us from a deeper walk with God every time unless we are vigilant. The devil usually succeeds in its scheme by cooperating with our weak fragile ego. Our strategy of maintaining our victory lies in living in His truth and developing self-discipline that blocks the devil and exposes his trickery.
