In this blog series, we will study the deeper walk depicted in the Song of Songs 1:2-2:7. In our study, we draw life applications from the text and reflect on what it means to grow in love with Him. May the Holy Spirit open our eyes to see the glory of the Lord unknown to us from afar.
The Song of Songs describes a deeper love relationship of a believer with the Lord. It paints a passionate love life of the blessed with the Lord. This is about love beyond salvation. It refers to a deeper love where a believer matures enough to become under the authority of the Master, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is such love that is the very fabric of the manifestations of maturity and growth in Him.
In this glorious love dynamics, we see that the journey commences with a sweet freedom from all the distractions that keep us from being focused on Him. This freedom brings us into more intimacy with the Lord. In such intimacy, we have experiential awareness of brokenness and divine touch. Through it all, God realizes His purpose to change us into the likeness of His Son. That undoubtedly brings us into His abundant life. Let’s read prayerfully and marvel at His love as never before.

Take into heart God’s idea of fasting given in Isaiah 58:1-12
The Wrong Kind of Fast that doesn't please God Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God. Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
The Right Kind of Fast that pleases God Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward. Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday: And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
Be still and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10)
We may feel tired, but we choose to stay on course by God’s grace. Take rest and just worship the Lord. Let go of all the concerns and needs. Come before Him and rest. Enjoy the Lord. Everything is going to be all right.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Eph. 2:10 KJV
We are almost there by the grace of God!
Remember to focus on the Lord, stay in the Word. Take this day to listen to what God wants to say. He has places to take us that we never imagined. We don’t have the complete picture and therefore, we can easily get down by our circumstances. Not now though. Now that the clutter in our minds are clearing up, it is time to open up to His plan for our lives.
The possibilities are endless once we place our lives in His hands. Just sit back and watch what He can do with our broken lives.
Great is His faithfulness!
God is doing amazing things. Meditate on His unfailing love and enter His rest …
How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together. I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city. They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west. They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD. Hosea 11:8-11 KJV
Praise the Lord for yet another victory today! God is into the business of NEW. Meditate on the Scripture below and pray that we can know, reckon, and yield according to the truth (Romans 6:3-14).

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Eph. 4:24 KJV
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Col. 3:10
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Rev. 21:5 KJV
